This year’s SFAI Concentrate is the not-to-be-missed art event of fall. It’s the chance to see and buy new works from the next generation of artists at the salon-style art sale. Come for diverse offerings in art, lively conversation, local food and drink, and a celebration of emerging artists!

Over two days, SFAI will open its graduate studios to the public and host plenty of art events including exhibitions, film screenings, special performances, talks, and much more. Admission is free, but don’t forget to RSVP!

○ What Lies Beneath: Re-Imagining the Long-Lost Mural
Saturday, Nov 16 | 11am–5pm
Level 1, Woodshop
Work collaboratively on a large-scale drawing of the newly uncovered mural at SFAI—Chestnut Street Campus. Using the school’s rich history of fresco painting as inspiration, explore with a variety of materials such as pencils, crayons, markers, and pens to complete a new rendition of this historical painting.

○ Cyanotype Workshop
Sunday, Nov 17 | 11am-5pm
In front of the Fort Mason Campus on the apron
This drop-in cyanotype workshop will give students a hands-on experience making a cyanotype photo as well as a brief history of cyanotypes and photo. Students will utilize found objects (leaves, branches and other objects) to produce a photogram like cyanotype. Students will also learn about exposure and the relationship between light and photographic paper.

Come and explore the magic of photography and leave with your very own handmade one-of-a-kind artwork! Chalk masterpieces, fun with post-its and more led by City Studio lead artists; current SFAI students enrolled in the City as Studio Practicum Class and City Studio Director Amy Berk.
