Program Goals:

  • Developing skills for experience-based curricula, assessment in a studio arts environment, and teaching to multiple skill-levels, through guided seminar sessions, discussions, and readings.
  • Creating new artistic projects. Participants each receive a personal studio at SFAI’s graduate facilities and work with distinguished SFAI faculty in a one-on-one and group environments. Specific hours will be designated throughout the week for studio time.
  • Engaging in critique seminars for thorough, constructive critique of your artwork.
  • Building new relationships with art educators through evening activities including studio tours, lectures, and social events.
  • Encouraging each teacher’s professional development as an artist, including guidance on marketing your work and on applying for exhibition opportunities, grants, and residencies.
