Steps to study abroad at Korea University of Arts
Visa Information
Students admitted to study at K-Arts should meet with the Global Programs Office immediately to discuss the student visa process.
Housing
K-Arts offers student housing for exchange students. Students are provided with a fully furnished living space including telephone and Internet service connections. Accommodations feature a social lounge, laundry room, health and fitness facilities, computer lab, reading room, convenience store, and 24-hour security. Students must submit a Dormitory Registration Form, a medical certificate, and a copy of their passport to apply for the dormitory.
Non-Student Housing
Many exchange students may wish to live in Non-Student Housing. Contact the Global Programs Office to discuss your options.
If you are staying alone in an officetel or a studio apartment then your monthly rent may be around 300,000 – 350,000 won per month ($300 – $350). For certain officetel you do not need to pay any utilities like electricity, water, gas, or heat, and some may even include dinner. Here is a website to help you find an officetel: www.o2oneroomtel.com
As in the U.S., many students use craigslist.org to find housing.
Public Transportation
Public transport is highly efficient in Korea. All you need to travel is a T-Money card, which is widely accepted in buses, subway trains, taxis, 7-Eleven shops, public telephone booths, and many other places. You can buy a T-Money card in any 7-Eleven shop for 3,000 Won, and reload it with money as needed.
