Megann Sept
Dean of Students

Megann joined SFAI in October 2008, transitioning to SFAI from teaching in the first-year writing program at Emerson College in Boston. Her previous experience includes work with first-year learning communities, teaching creative writing, and various roles in residence life. She holds an MFA from Emerson College and is currently at work on a book of short stories.

Anthony Molinar
Assistant Dean of Students

Anthony holds a BA in Language Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He was deeply involved in student affairs at UCSC, holding positions as a community programs assistant and a community advisor, as well as several other student leadership positions in his time there. Anthony worked for the Facilities Management office at the University of San Francisco prior to joining the Housing and Residential Life office at SFAI. In June 2012, Anthony transitioned into a new role as the Assistant Dean of Students, and has greatly enjoyed the new opportunities for working with the broader campus community that this position offers.

Nick Rougely
Resident Director

Nick received his M.A. in English and Literature from the University of Texas – San Antonio and B.A. from Centenary College of Louisiana. He has been involved in all levels of housing from residence halls, to facilities, to camps and conferences. Nick worked as a Residence Life Coordinator for the past two years before accepting the opportunity to be the Resident Director at SFAI. With his combined Student Affairs and Housing knowledge Nick is looking forward to bringing the housing program at SFAI to the next level of student engagement and residential experience.

Sara Wanie
Career and Professional Practices Coordinator

Sara is a practicing local artist who received her MFA in painting at the San Francisco Art Institute in 2009, subsequent to receiving her BFA in painting from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003. She has shown in California, New York, and Wisconsin. As a student she was awarded several honors, including the Murphy Cadogan fellowship. Her figurative, narrative, and archive-based work combines elements of a variety of medium, including painting, drawing, printmaking and collage.  Prior to joining the Student Affairs team, Sara worked in the Admissions Office at SFAI for almost three years.

Jill Tolfa
Global Programs Advisor

Jill has worked in international education and advising for over a decade. Her interest in this field began in Italy where she received an International Baccalaureate at the United World College of the Adriatic. She also studied at the University of Bologna, holds a BA in Comparative Literary Studies and Italian Studies from Northwestern University, and has completed an MA in International and Multicultural Education at the University of San Francisco. Jill is passionate about student services, cultural diversity, world literature, yoga, early-modern piano music and Italian pastries.

Rye Purvis
Housing Coordinator

Rye received a BFA in Painting from SFAI in the spring of 2011. Having worked with the Student Affairs staff as a Resident Advisor for two academic years and three PreCollege cycles, Rye became the Housing Coordinator in fall 2011 as a natural career progression. For the past two years, Rye has been an Artist Instructor for the Meridian Interns Program, a 15-year-old program in which low-income teens from the Bay Area are taught multiple art mediums as well as job-related skills. Rye's most recent artwork was featured in a video installation on Market St., funded through the San Francisco Arts Commission.

  Gina Davis, Psy.D.
Accessibility Specialist

Gina holds a BA in Psychology from Barnard College in New York, and a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University’s California School of Professional Psychology in San Francisco. She joined SFAI in September 2013 after completing a postdoctoral fellowship for Counseling and Psychological Services at Mount St. Mary’s College in Los Angeles. In her spare time, she enjoys writing fiction and making films.
