Interlibrary Loan

The library offers interlibrary loan to students and faculty wishing to borrow titles not available at SFAI or other local libraries. Because interlibrary loan often involves both fees and a fairly long wait (often two weeks or more), we encourage you to discuss your research needs with a library staff person before making an interlibrary loan request. Keep in mind that the library is often happy to simply purchase requested titles if they are judged to be relevant to the collection.

Books and journal articles are both available through interlibrary loan. Books borrowed via interlibrary loan are for in-library-use only, and charges per book may be $15 or more, depending on the fees charged by lending libraries. Materials available through the local public libraries’ interlibrary loan services (free for all card holders) cannot be obtained by interlibrary loan at SFAI.

For more information or to make an interlibrary loan request, please contact a member of the library’s staff.
