Here are answers to the most common questions from SFAI alumni. 

How do I take advantage of alumni benefits? Is it free?
Anyone who has attended SFAI as a full-time, degree-seeking graduate or undergraduate student is a lifelong member of SFAI's alumni community. It's free. If you haven't heard from the Institute in awhile, please say hello and send your current contact information. Whether you live in the Bay Area or thousands of miles away, this is the best way to stay connected with SFAI and find out about events and opportunities in your area.

How do I update my contact information?
To update your email, use the simple Update Contact Information form. To update your mailing address, website, career information or other details, email alumni@sfai.edu or call 415.749.4512. 

How can I get a copy of my transcript?
Head to sfai.edu/request-transcript for the request form and more details.

Can I purchase SFAI swag?
You sure can. Head to shop.sfai.edu.

How can I share my accomplishments with the SFAI community?
Congratulations on your work. If you have current or upcoming news and events, share them with SFAI on Facebook, on Twitter at @SFAIevents and @SFAIalumni, and on LinkedIn. SFAI is currently developing an online submission form and section on the website dedicated to archiving recent alumni exhibitions, publications, and other professional achievements. Please start compiling details and stay tuned. 

Does SFAI have career resources?
Yes. Head to the Career Resources Center to access the online job and opportunity board, schedule career counseling and resume reviews, or hire a student or alumnus. Sara Wanie, an alumna and the Professional Practices & Career Coordinator, can also assist you. Drop her an email at career@sfai.edu.

What happens to my SFAI email when I become an alumnus?
You will receive an @alumni.sfai.edu email address. Your student email will remain active through the summer and then be deactivated at the start of the following fall semester.

What if I became an alumnus before email was around?
You may request an alumni email address by emailing edusupport@sfai.edu. Please include your full name, class year, and major. 

I love the Library. May I use it as an alumnus?
We love the Anne Bremer Memorial Library, too. Alumni have access to all resources within the Library, but cannot checkout materials. Visit the website for hours, to search the collection, and more. As a courtesy to students, please keep your cell phone on silent and make sure students have ample space to work if the Library gets busy.

May I take classes on campus?
Alumni are encouraged to take advantage of the free Open Drawing Studio on Fridays during the academic year. It's been around since the 1950s! You may also want to register for a Public Education class.

May I use the Digital Imaging Studio on campus?
Sure thing. Head to Digital Studios and scroll down to “Digital Imaging Studio Price List” to view special alumni rates.

I'd like to visit campus. It's been awhile, and I can't remember how to get back. 
The San Francisco Art Institute welcomes you back to campus! Get directions and feel free to email alumni@sfai.edu to let the Institute know when you plan to visit. Lindsey Lyons, Manager of Alumni Relations & Special Events, is typically on campus during the week and would be happy to meet you.
