Laureen Mahler

Laureen Mahler received her undergraduate degree in English and Creative Writing from SFSU, then attended California College of the Arts for her MFA in Creative Writing. While at CCA, Laureen studied letterpress and book arts and co-founded Beeswax Magazine, an annual journal of literature and art now in its seventh issue. Together with her husband, she is co-owner of Volta Press, a letterpress and design studio located in Oakland, California. Outside of the press, Laureen has worked as a teacher and freelance writer, and she currently divides her time between printing, teaching, writing, and travel.
