About the Student Exhibition
Andréanne Michon meditates upon the passage of time and inheritance with portraits of her family, ancestors, and the landscape of La Présentation, a village in Quebec, Canada, where she is from. On May 15, 2010, Hydraulic fracking to extract shale gas from La Vallée du St-Laurent began in this region.
Through academic research and first-hand interaction with depression patients, Tristan Cai presents a memoir on the life of composite character Toivo Laukkanen. Laukkanen is a successful military general described as a father by his peers but who has an estranged relationship with his only child. He passed away unexpectedly midway through this project.

About the Diego Rivera Gallery Exhibitions
The Diego Rivera Gallery, home to SFAI’s historic Diego Rivera Mural, is a student-directed exhibition space for work by SFAI students. The gallery provides an opportunity for students from all academic programs to present their work or curate in a gallery setting; to use the space for large-scale installations; or to experiment with artistic concepts and concerns in a public venue.
The Gallery is open daily from 9 am–5 pm for exhibition and mural viewing on SFAI’s 800 Chestnut Street campus. Opening receptions are on Tuesdays, with an artist talk at 4:30 and a reception from 5–7 pm. For a complete schedule of SFAI's lectures and events, please visit www.sfai.edu/events
