Artists' Statement:

Though diverse in approach, this collection of work by SFAI students Christie Ginanni, Anna Rose, and Lorena Perez explores the desire to find order in the natural and psychological landscapes through the investigation of remaining evidence, the close study of organic structures, and navigation through the configurations of psychologically charged space. What remains is the residue of an event or presence, whether it is revealed through multiple layers of transparency and light as in Perez’s installation or the immobility of the costumed figure in Rose’s video and photographs. Likewise, Gianni’s multimedia exploration of the dérive practice allows for an investigation of space as it is related to a physical and psychological presence in a natural setting.
