Rachel Schreiber is an artist and cultural historian. Her research addresses the intersections of race and gender in labor activism. She has exhibited her photo and video work internationally, and published her writings widely. Her most recent book Modern Print Activism in the United States was released by Ashgate Publishing in early 2013. In 2011, the Contemporary Jewish Museum in San Francisco commissioned her project Site Reading as part of their exhibition California Dreaming. Schreiber holds a PhD in American History from the Johns Hopkins University and an MFA in Photography and Critical Writing from the California Institute of the Arts. Schreiber is dean and vice president for academic affairs at SFAI.
