Graduate Lecture Series

Gavin Butt is Reader in the Department of Visual Cultures at Goldsmiths, University of London. He is the author of Between You and Me: Queer Disclosures in the New York Art World 1948–1963 (Duke University Press), and editor of After Criticism: New Responses to Art and Performance (Blackwell). Along with Adrian Heathfield and Lois Keidan, he is currently Co-director of Performance Matters, a three-year creative research project on the cultural value of performance. He is also researching a new book tentatively entitled The Common Turn in Performance.
