About the Student Exhibition
Thailand is a code name used by the Israeli military, meaning end of task or end of mission. This body of works relates to land, body and territory issues, in relation to the political reality in Israel. Images from locations of army training in the desert are transformed while being exhibited in a forgotten old school in Tel-Aviv city.
Maya Smira is an Israeli artist and photographer, currently active in the San Francisco Bay area.
