San Francisco,

To honor the 100th birthday of counter-culture legend William S. Burroughs, City Lights in conjunction with San Francisco Art Institute presents an evening with Barry Miles in conversation with V. Hale.

Miles, a Beat historian and biographer, will draw from his book Call Me Burroughs, the first full-length Burroughs biography published in a quarter century. Hale, one of the country’s leading archivists of Burroughs’ materials, will add to the discussion with stories from his personal acquaintance with the writer. The two will discuss the life and work of an important American cultural and literary figure.
