SFAI—Fort Mason Campus is the new 67,000 square foot home to over 160 art studios for students, faculty, and visiting artists; 3,300 square feet of new public exhibition space—open to the public and free of charge.
This new campus is located in a vibrant community of 24 resident organizations–including galleries, bookshops, restaurant, cafes, and art supply store–and within blocks of the SFAI—Chestnut Street Campus.
To open the new Fort Mason Campus, SFAI is commissioning new works—starting with a mural by Alicia McCarthy (BFA 1994).
Fly through the campus in this drone video in the space and beyond.
The new campus is next to SFMOMA Artists Gallery; art supply store FLAX Art & Design; Embark Gallery, which offers exhibition opportunities to fine arts graduate students from Bay Area colleges; City College’s Fort Mason Art Campus; and the internationally acclaimed Greens Restaurant.
