Benjamin Ashlock is a multimedia artist and scholar whose practice investigates themes of autobiography, gender, and visual studies within forms of installation, photography, sculpture, and writing. He has served as the BA Department Representative to the Student Union, the Programming Director of Film Salon (SFAI's student-run experimental film program), and as a member of SFAI's Strategic Planning Committee. In 2011, he led an arts workshop in Phnom Penh, Cambodia as the recipient of the Davis Projects for Peace Grant. He is currently an on-campus AV Technician/Digital Media Tutor, and a Gallery Technician at the Contemporary Jewish Museum. In addition, he co-directs 1038, a gallery and project space in San Francisco's Cole Valley. He will complete his BFA in New Genres at SFAI in Spring 2014.
