Ariel Hansen Strong is a book artist, printmaker, and designer residing in San Francisco, CA. She received her MFA in Book Art and Creative Writing from Mills College in 2015. Her interest in artists' books began while she was studying sculpture at the San Francisco Art Institute (BFA 2011). Strong values artists' book forms for their limitless natures and inherent interdisciplinary qualities.
Strong's work has been exhibited nationwide, and is included in Special Collections Libraries at University of California in Berkeley, Washington University, Baylor University, and Mills College. She was an Artist-in-Residence at the Kala Institute of Art in 2015, and attended the Paper & Book Intensive at OxBow in 2016 as a Nell Meldahl Work-Study Scholarship recipient. She recently served as Visual Arts Faculty at Interlochen Arts Camp, the summer program of Interlochen Center for the Arts in Interlochen, MI.View Gallery »
