2014 Summer Housing
San Francisco Art Institute is excited to offer summer housing this year. Staying in the SFAI residence halls over the summer is a good way to avoid the hassle of searching for an apartment, taking on a long sublease, or putting down a large security deposit. With agreement dates tailored to the various summer programs at SFAI, students have the opportunity to stay in the halls for the period that they need to, without having to sign on for unnecessary periods of time—which saves money in the long run.
Summer housing is a great option for Summer Low-Residency MFA students, students taking summer courses or participating in summer residencies, and current residents who would like to stay in their rooms over the break. Fall 2014 students can move into a room for the summer and stay in the same room for the 2014–2015 academic year.
To apply for summer housing, please print and fill out the Summer 2014 Housing Application and submit it to the Housing

Looking to start school in Fall 2014? Applying for housing at SFAI is a simple process.
Download, complete, and submit a housing application to the Housing and Residential Life Office. The priority deadline for applications is Monday, June 2. If possible, forms should be submitted prior to this date.
The process is outlined below:
- Print and fill out the 2014–2015 Housing Application and submit it via fax, email, or postal mail
- The Housing and Residential Life Office will email you a confirmation within three business days upon the receipt of your application
- You will be assigned to a room and matched with a roommate based on the information you provide in your application
- You will be informed of your housing and roommate assignment in early August 2014
Please note that although we continue to accept housing applications through Monday, September 8, it is best to submit your application by the priority deadline, Monday, June 2. The Housing and Residential Life Office will begin matching roommates shortly after this date, so you have a better chance of getting your preferred room type and being paired with a compatible roommate if you apply by the priority deadline.
While we make every effort to accommodate all students who apply for housing, new undergraduate students receive housing priority. Limited space is available for returning and graduate students.
