Summer 2013 Housing
We are excited to offer summer housing again this year! Staying in the SFAI residence halls over the summer is a great way to avoid the hassle of searching for an apartment, taking on a long sublease, or putting down a large security deposit. With agreement dates tailored for the various summer programs at SFAI, students have the opportunity to stay in the halls for the period that they need to, without having to sign on for unnecessary periods of time - saving money in the long run.
Summer housing is a great option for Summer Low-Residency MFA students, students taking summer courses or participating in summer residencies, and current residents who would like to stay in their room over the break. For Fall 2013 students, it's possible to move into a room for the summer and stay in the same room for the 2013-2014 academic year!
To apply for summer housing, please print and fill out the Summer 2013 Housing Application and submit it to the housing office.
2013-2014 Academic Year Housing
Looking to start school in Fall 2013? Applying for housing at SFAI is a simple process.
Download, complete, and submit a housing application to the Housing and Residential Life Office. The priority deadline for applications is Monday, June 3, 2013. If possible, forms should be submitted prior to this date.
The process is outlined below:
- Print and fill out the 2013-2014 Housing Application and submit it via fax, email, or postal mail.
- The Housing and Residential Life Office will email you a confirmation within three business days upon the receipt of your application.
- You will be assigned to a room and matched with a roommate based on the information you provide in your application. You will be informed of your housing and roommate assignment in early August 2013.
Please note that the priority housing deadline for the Fall 2013 semester is Monday, June 3, 2013. Although we continue to accept housing applications through Monday, September 9, 2013, it is best to submit your application by the priority deadline. We will begin matching roommates shortly after this date, meaning that you have a better chance of getting your preferred room type, and the best chance of being paired with a compatible roommate, if you apply by the priority deadline.
While we make every effort to accommodate all students who apply for housing, new undergraduate students will be given housing priority. Limited space is available for returning and graduate students. For more information regarding graduate student housing, please visit the Graduate Student Housing page, or contact the Resident Director for Housing and Residential Life at housing@sfai.edu or 415.351.3556.
