BRETT REICHMAN

Brett Reichman is chair of and associate professor in the Painting department. His highly detailed, conceptual-realist paintings and drawings address the complexities of identity politics. They are in many public collections, including SFMOMA, the Orange County Museum, and the Berkeley Art Museum. Solo exhibitions include PPOW Gallery and Feature Inc. in New York; Gallery Paule Anglim in San Francisco; and the Orange County Museum in Newport Beach (CA). His work was recently featured in the publication Art—A Sex Book by John Waters and Bruce Hainley, and will appear in the upcoming Untitled publication (Red Square), published by Feature Inc. in 2007. Critical writing about his work has appeared in such journals as ArtForum, Art In America, Tema Celeste, and ArtPress. Brett received his BFA from Carnegie Mellon University and his MFA from UC Berkeley.
