Need a place to hold a special event? How about the San Francisco Art Institute Café? One of the best-kept secrets in the North Beach area is available for private events during evenings and weekends, and offers catering.

Step through the Art Institute’s main entrance, stop to admire the goldfish pond, then veer left and continue past the art-laden walls to the open-air piazza at the rear of the building. Located right next to the Walter and McBean Galleries, the San Francisco Art Institute Café has indoor and outdoor seating that features a sweeping view, stretching from the Marin Headlands, past Alcatraz island, to Telegraph Hill and Coit Tower.
